Byzantine Cochin Football Club is the cornerstone of our mission, dedicated to empowering young footballers. Beyond being a football club, it’s an academy fostering growth, skill development, and opportunities for young talents to excel in football, paving their path to professional success without financial constraints.

22nd March 1998 witnessed the formation of FRIENDS Arts and Sports Club at Chittethukara near Kakkanad aiming for the development of arts and sports in the district. Later on 25th March 2004 the club parted ways to form BYZANTINE FOOTBALL ACADEMY in order to give prime importance to football.

The activities in the first phase were to find talented children and get them the services of the best coaches and bring them infront of the association. Gradually players from the club became regular faces in all categories of the district team and even had players representing the state team. Due to their cohesiveness as a team the club qualified for the District A-Division league in 2006 and the Cochin Premier League in the next season, the top league in the district. The team had a golden opportunity to face the National League team VIVA KERALA. This opened the way for many players to mark their presence in the Army, Navy, Police and VIVA KERALA team.

During this period, the team was training at Thrikkakkara Municipality Ground In 2010, the club approached Mr.C.V.JACOB Sir, owner of St Peters Senior Secondary School, seeking permission for conducting further practice sessions in the school ground After understanding the club’s motives and efforts, he finally opened the St Peters Ground; one of the best grounds in the district for the club’s practice. Shri C.V.JACOB Sir himself inaugurated the first training camp at the ground.

The club was able to win the prominent tournaments of the district such as the Don Bosco Cup, and the C H Mohamed Koya Cup. Many players represented the district in sub-junior, junior, senior categories The players who grew up through the club played in the Santhosh Trophy and were part of the winning team.

In the 2021-22 season, the club won the District Super Division (Cochin Premier League), winning against the top clubs in Ernakulam.
